Sworn off cigarettes

After smoking 5 sticks in a row, I came to realise that cigarettes are not going to help me. For a first, they are expensive. 5 sticks of cigarettes is approximately $2.50, enough to buy me a hawker fare. If my troubles are with money, smoking cigarettes is definitely counter productive. Second, the temporal relief that it bring ain't going to make my trouble go away permanently. Third, it clouds my ability to think, making my thoughts more messed up than it already is. Fourth, I feel like shit after the effect wears off.

He started 2 spread his happiness ard to e rest of the pigs. But PIGGER (best fren of PIGGIE) was not V convinced.. PIGGER tot PIGGIE was attention seeker..OR PIGGIE is going cRaZY!..Or PIGGIE dun like PIGGER anymore..Soon, all e other pigs became happy and +ve pigs. Even e sheep, dogs, horse, ducks etc etc were haPPier lor! Only tt PIGGER was still sad & sceptical. FINALLY, PIGGER decided 2 stop zuan niu jiao jian (hah!), and the whole farm was full of happy animals. PIGGER also regained his friendship with PIGGIE, yeah.

-

Seriously, after reading it the 2nd time, I have really no idea what my friend was trying to tell me. Though it has definitely been a farnie story. Thanks nonetheless. :) Time to clear my inbox.

The firewall

The firewall is akin to the defense mechanism that everyone has. It serves to filter away dangerous stuff that is bad for you and only allow the so called safe stuff to come through.

-

However, the problem with human is that they do not like safe stuffs. Safe stuffs are never remotely interesting, engaging or intriguing.

-

Thus, from time to time, they decide to test the strength of their anti-virus software and spyware removal by shutting down their firewall.

-

With the floodgates open, all hell break loose and more often than not, you have wished that you have not open the pandora box.

The restaurant

I came across this restaurant that I really liked. Well, not that I have gone into the restaurant, so I could only say that I think I would have really liked if I had gone into it. The ambience, settings, food and everything just seems so right.

-

Of course, with such a good settings, its certainly manifest on its waiting list. Well, the interesting thing about this restaurant's waiting list is that you never know how many people is waiting and how many people are ahead or behind you.

-

Well, being one who never quite call it quits, I decided to place myself on the waiting list, after being informed by the boss that the restaurant was currently all filled up.

-

After waiting for a while, you start to reaslise some discrepancies. People seems to arrive from nowhere and just enter into the restaurant at the biding of the boss, whereas people whom you can see queueing in front of you never quite seem to be clearing up. Well, since they have an invisible waiting list, these guys could have been way in front. With such a haphazardous system, you decided that it wouldn't hurt if you go and take a break somewhere, since standing up for a long time is really straining.

-

After you come back from the break, you are amazed that the whole queue have changed. Apparently the boss could still recognise you and bid you upfront. Wow, you think to yourself that the break really works man. No only it makes you totally rejuvenated and refresh, now you are first in line. So you ask the boss, what happened to those who were around earlier? Well, the boss casually replied that most of them couldn't stand the wait and had left.

-

You smile to yourself, congratulating yourself on how lucky you have been. Then even before you can say "Great", one whole bunch of people appeared from nowhere and entered the restaurant. Now it really starts to feel strange, so you decided to confront the boss again. "hey man, if there's so much space in there, it can't be that much of a coincidence that it just happened to fit that bunch of people minus me, right? And seriously, I haven't seen them before, so what's with them?"

-

The boss upon hearing the question, just smiled back and said, well, you are already at the door, if you can't wait, you can always leave, can't you? And btw, we do have some criteria for admitting guests.

-

Now, its really getting frustrating. You have been waitin for a long time for your meal, the time where's its probably sufficient for you to walk and look around for another restaurant...settle down for one and finished up a nice meal...however, having waited for so long, you decided against your better judgement since, it could be your turn anytime soon and you think you have figured out that there isn't much difference in criteria between those people who are admitted in as compared to yourself. As such, you decided to hold your fort...

-

till suddenly, the lights went off and the boss came out of the restaurant telling all the people who is still queueing that they are closed for the day and for everyone to come early next time.

-

and damned...i still have not had my dinner yet. And you end up with a serious gastric problem and died (of course not, thought that's definitely a plausible outcome)

life is a solitaire

Just when you feel that life is getting too boring or too sedated, it decided to pursue a course on its own and wow you at it. Of course, a wow may also become a wham that whacks you on the face and send you flying. I haven't exactly been good friends with fate for a while.

-

First, it was the possibility of a wonderful evening ahead. Then things took on a negative turn...disappointment...well, there's plenty in life, so what's new. But before you could say hey, things started looking bright and cheery again. So, with hopes up high, you proceeded, only to find yourself flunk to the bottom.

-

You really do not know what the next card that is opened would bring to you. One card that clears the whole deck, or the one that signs your death cert.

-

After going through a rather bumpy ride this evening, I think its time to submit myself to fate. You seriously do not know that that sentence could be end up being the parting words that you will ever speak to a particular person (no worries...no one died here), or that last hug, last kiss, last touch, last smile etc...you get the picture.

-

Be present, always enjoy and cherish your every moments, since you do not know when that would be the very last.

health conscious

while I was waiting for the doc at the poly clinic today, I came across an interesting exhibit.

-

"Adults should not take more than 13 teaspoon of fats per day"

-

Its actually pretty tough even if you stick to their so called "correct version" of the same type of food that you want to eat. For example, you should be eating the superbly dry chappati (which apparently has 0 teaspoon of fat) as opposed to a prata (which, if I didn't remember wrongly, have 5 teaspoons of fat). Eating laska without the gravvy half the fats intake from 7 to 3 teaspoon. And the killer for chicken rise and nasi lemak lies in the rice. You have to half the portion of rice to reduce fat intake dramatically (well, I'm sure you will soon find people who eat chicken rice without rice). :)

-

Recently, I have also heard from a friend talking about eating right for your blood group. Apparently, people with B+ blood type should avoid eating salmon (something which I absolutely love) and should avoid taking tomato (and damned...I love my tomato juice).

Injury finally caught up

Injury finally caught up with me and I must say that I have been lucky enough that it came so late that it did not kill my interest and that it is relatively light.

-

Was trying to learn "power slide" on my blades at ECP this afternoon when i spun out of control and fell on my own ankles (kinda gross now that I think back). Followed with a 'crack' sound, I knew things weren't looking too good.

-

Bought a re-usable ice pack and ice it a bit earlier...even resorting to TCM methods now...kinda interesting...I have a mushroom (soaked with white wine) pasted on my ankle now. Its supposed to aid blood circulation over the area. Hope it works, I really got a packed week in front of me and getting out of action now really sucks big time.

-

Well, I should be counting my blessing. It could have been much worse, like getting into a scuffle with a couple who wanted to beat me up for nearly banging into them this afternoon or getting injured while I just started blading that would have totally killed off my interest at infancy.

-

Looking at it, I supposed it might just get better after a good night sleep. So, what the hell. (Its still painful nevertheless)

A day of celebrations

Technically, I can't say that its A day of celebrations, since the celebratory mood had started quite a while back and the very first combined birthday dinner I had was 1 1/2 weeks ago. It was a nice and quiet (erm...maybe not that quiet with gayle fussing over some apparent change that she has witnessed in me, that is definitely not apparent to me) dinner at patara thai, Raffles City. Really nice place, (thanks to Winnie for suggesting and booking the table) I like the ambience, the food and of course, most importantly the company (was basking in the wonderful companion of 3 lovely ladies - actually, cos the other 2 guys were LATE! But no complaints lar, cos the cake wouldn't have arrived without changhe, thanks bro! And yesh, how can we forget Teik, who has rushed down after his remedial training, all sweaty and yet still looking good). My hostel clique (kind of partial clique only actually, cos one guy is permanently away in China, and the other 2 constantly MIA), great neighbours whom I have known for 5 years. Great company always, then and now. Whether it is eating supper away in our cosy (a.k.a small and squeezy) hostel room, having worms in vegetables (you know yourself, i don't want to name names) for steamboat, or running away without ordering any drinks at different pubs, lounges etc several times within a night.

-

Then of course, was the 'bu yao lian' list, where the wish list were drawn up and constantly updated. I hope i was not too blatant...:P Might incur the wraith of other netizens out there.

-

The theme of the birthday this year is apparently "healthy lifestyle". (And yesh, Huijun, there are so called "unhealthy" birthday celebrations around) Nearly started off with a jog in the morning (sorry meifoong, should have agreed to meeting at 0730hrs...Tseyong came late in the end). It was off to blading at Padang first thing in the morning, where samsung has specially organised an inline skating event for my birthday (ya, rite). Sadly, heavens decided to shower me with blessings on the special day along our way and we arrived at a wet, warm and humid morning at Cityhall. It has definitely dampened our interest, but not our spirits, so we decided to have our own "private party" elsewhere.

-

I supposed special things happen to special people on special day. I haven't exactly been falling down recently when I blade, yet I actually fell today, damned you pebble, stone, seed or watever for jamming my blades. (I supposed it is for people to sing me happy birthday song - courtesy of Wanqi, or to pull down my shorts - courtesy of Jason, as part of the celebration?) And yesh bro Tseyong & Alvin, it was really either a pebble, stone or seed or something that jammed my blades. I'am not that lousy liao okay. lol

-

The fall was quite incredible, (Not that I have rolled over, banged into a tree/lampost, fell into the pond etc) but rather, I managed to tear my beach shorts and my leather wallet which was in my back pocket (actually, a couple of important identification card was also cracked by the impact). (Incidentally, the brand of the wallet was called Picard, no wonder it Picha so easily...hahah) Sorry, Tseyong and Gerard, I know its a gift from you guys, but I really didn't mean to tear the wallet. (Luckily it was from Christmas last year, else I would be so screwed man) Strangely, it seems to be "destroy your presents" day, cos the pair of beach shorts were also a birthday present from about 5 years back. Oops.

-

On a separate note, Tseyong also managed to destroy someone else birthday watch this afternoon, though Alvin and I still have our reservation about the matter. Oh well, Tseyong can tell you all about it. And yesh, Wanqi, please don't be scared anymore. hahaha. :)

-

Otherwise, blading have been great today! Learnt a couple of new stuffs from Jason. And before I forget, a lot of you laugh laugh laugh today ah...next time don't come and ask me how to do a power slide when I master it. The one who get tired very easy, please blade more next time ah, else you xia suay during the impt outings, don't say I never remind you. :)

-

When you think that this is all to a healthy lifestyle, alvin and I went swimming (We did 20 laps - okay, maybe 10, if we use the definition by Don) in the evening before adjourning to dinner with the rest (Tseyong, Gerard, Lau & Don - sorry to all the spouses, but this is truly a guys night out only) at Bottle Tree Village!

-

I really like to thank each and everyone of you for spending my birthday with me. I had fun and I hope you did too. Thanks for all the presents and the well wishers, I hope that you guys have a good year ahead as well. But most importantly, thank you all for always being there for me when I fall (especially to my bros, and some sisters - sorry eh, but crash and burn is still my style). I really treasure your company and friendship and I promise I will be there for you when you need me.

-

Lastly, it has always been my greater wish to get all my different cliques of friends together, to get you guys to know each other. It would really be fun. (If you don't believe, you can ask the people who went for the dinner tonight, how much they enjoyed suaning me and counter checking with one another) Should be attempting to organise cross cliques outing after this, so please support me with the turnout! See all of yer around!

Which baby are you?

A fren just sent this to me and hey, its pretty accurate for me (more bu yao lian)...so check it out!

latest update on wish list

Latest update on the "bu yao lian" list...muahahaha.

-

Alvin's gonna get me my protective guards...way to go bro.

Problem with wish list

Only one day after I wrote the wish list, problems start to arise...no no, its not about the weird stares and the "bu yao lian" remarks which people gave (though, hey, I should take that into consideration as well...CAN'T I HAVE A WISH LIST???)

-

Okay, back to the main point. The problem with my wish list is that I have great friends...and as everyone knows...great minds think alike...and so...hypothethically, I might end up with 6 or 7 earpieces...hahaha.

-

So, in order to solve this problem, I shall bring my "bu yao lianess" to the next level. Someone already promised to bake me a cake (though i'am not sure whether she was just joking). Tseyong and Gerard probably getting me the earpiece (Geko, sorry, you are 1 step too late...I hope you don't return from Australia with another earpiece for me...lol). Oh yesh, and someone said that she would give me her unfinished nougats so I can make up "one bag full". (see, I have such "good" friends) and lastly, Samsung gonna hold a party for me at Padang with 1,500 skaters.

-

Well, pretty much that's it for now...there are still many other options available. (I really want a watch) muahahaha.
