Just for Laughs

Lee Sum Wan: "Hello, can I speak to Annie Wan?"

Mr. Sori: "Yes, you can speak to me."

Lee Sum Wan: "No, I want to speak to Annie Wan."

Mr. Sori: "You are talking to someone!  Who is this?"

Lee Sum Wan: "I'm Sum Wan.  I need to talk to Annie Wan.  It's urgent."

Mr. Sori: "I know you are someone and you want to talk to anyone! But what's this urgent matter about?"

Lee Sum Wan: "Look, just tell my sister Annie Wan that our brother was involved in an accident.  Noe Wan was injured and now Noe Wan is being sent to the hospital.  Right now, Avery Wan is going to the hospital."

Mr. Sori: "Well, if no one was injured and no one was sent to the hospital from the accident, that isn't an urgent matter!  You may find this hilarious, but I don't have time for this!"

Lee Sum Wan: "You are very rude.  Who are you?"

Mr. Sori: "I'm Sori."

Lee Sum Wan: "You should be sorry.  Now give me your name!"

Mr. Sori: "I'm Sori!"

Lee Sum Wan: "I don't like your tone of voice, mister, and I don't care. Now give me your name!"

Mr. Sori: "Look, lady, I told you already.  I'm Sori!  I'm Sori!  I'm SORI! You didn't even give me your name!"

Lee Sum Wan: "I told you before, I'm Sum Wan!  Sum Wan!  You better be careful, man.  My father is Sum Buddy.  And my uncle holds a very prestigious position in the family business.  He is Noe Buddy."

Mr. Sori (sarcastically): "Oh, I'm so scared.  Look, I don't care about your uncle; he's nobody.  Everybody thinks he's top dog and holding an important position in the company."

Lee Sum Wan: "No, Avery Buddy just married my aunt.  And Avery Buddy doesn't work there."

Mr. Sori: "Like I said, I don't care which one of your aunts sleeps around, and I also know that not everybody works here! Jeez!  Now, which one of my employees do you want to talk to?"

Lee Sum Wan: "Wheech Wan is my sister!"

Mr. Sori: "I don't know which one is your sister!  How in God's name would I know that?

New set of rules for moi

Think i have been too hard on myself over the past few years. Perservere too much, over too many things, some needed, some unnecessary, which sometimes turn into an obsession. The main thing is, I haven't really been happy over the past few years. Was I being too stubborn? Too insistent? Too persistent? Too obsessed? Or simply, I just can't let go of things easily? Well, probably, I'am guilty for all of the above.

-

Well, so, new year, new rules. The key is to be happy. Dun feel good about something, don't do. Dun feel happy about something, don't do. Feel that there's no point doing it, don't do. Don't feel like doing it, don't do. Don't want to do it, don't do. Sounds like a complete slacker who's just bumming around? Perhaps, but I seriously doubt I will behave that way. Just dun enjoy not doing anything at all

-

Anyway, I know what i'am doing. Its my life after all. Don't like it? that's just too bad.

An interesting conversation

An interesting conversation that took place minutes just before the end of the week. Totally caught me off guard as it was unexpected and really, in certain sense unsolicited. Well, it came and I can't do anything but to take it in my stride. To me, life is still like playing solitaire. It ain't over till the last possible card has been flipped. And yesh, guys...NOT AGAIN...hahaha...laugh with me as there is seriously nothing I can do about it.

Person A: you didn't go back to work this weekend, did you?

Person B: WANTED to

Person B: decided against it

Person B: trying to work no

Person B: now

Person B: not woarking either

Person A: Good luck, i hope its not something urgent

Person A: guess its really tough to bet on you for dinner at the end of the year at this rate

Person A: the odds are definitely against me

Person B: As I have said, i'm a lost cause

Person B: in more ways than one

Person A: well, i'am an investor, not a speculator

Person B: which is why I bother to counsel u and advise u against making the wrong investment decision

Person A: there's no such things as a wrong investment lar…there are always risk involved…high risk high returns, low risk low returns

Person B: hahhaah

Person A: and in certain sense, no risk, no returns

Person B: ok

Person B: you have been forewarned

Person B: I shall say no more

Person A: thanks for the advise nonetheless, really appreciate it

Person B: it's the least tt i can do

Person A: will definitely proceed with caution, taking calculate risks along the way

Person B: being in receipt of your sweet thoughts, but in no position to recipocrate

Person A: there's no guaranteed returns on investments in this world

Person B: i think u shld stop looking at things from an investment point of view

Person B: investments are instruments which may yield returns upon you undertaking some risks

Person A: not all the time

Person A: some investments can wipe out your capital also

Person B: lost causes are instruments which will never yield return, no matter wat calculated / uncalculated risks u are willing to take

Person A: I guess you nver know whether something is an investment or a lost cause at the start, if everyone already knew the ending, then there wouldn't be a start at the first place

Person B: yes, one never knows at the strat

Person B: start

Person B: but one will come to learn some time

Person B: n the revelation has been made in this case

Person A: profit warning huh

Person B: tsk tsk

Person B: still thinking of profit

Person B: already told u it's lost cause

Person B: means it's not meant for investing n time or money into

Person A: profit warning means the declaration of losses lar

Person B: oh

Person B: ok

Person B: term of art

Person A: finance jargon
